Hello Folks!

Stephanie and I would like to thank you for your prayers. They are being felt. Yesterday, Alison's condition turned serious, and still is. Stephanie had an emergency C-section to deliver baby Alison. She is 5 lbs, 6 ounces, 17-3/4" long, 33-1/2 weeks and quite beautiful. She is in NICU and her condition is considered critical; but with each passing hour, we are getting better reports. But this is going to be a long road.

Many of Baton Rouge's best are attending to her, and we can't even begin to express the amazing things that have already occurred. Many specialists are attending to her. Being born before 37 weeks, the veins in her lungs are not mature and her heart was working overboard to push blood through her body. But her lungs cannot currently do what they are supposed to and put oxygen into her blood. She has been given many medicines and is connected to several amazing machines that are keeping her with us until her body can do what it needs. She was born anemic, and required an immediate blood transfusion.

There is early concern that there could be some trauma to the brain due to lack of blood and oxygen during the last hours of Stephanie's pregnancy. But the transfusion occurred within four minutes of her birth. This is the potential key.

The doctors are guarded, but optimistic. Preemie's seem to have amazing recovery abilities if she can overcome the difficulties this week. The doctors seem to believe if she will remain stable this week that her chances of overcoming her rough start are good, but tests remain.

Stephanie is doing well. She is a tough and valiant lady. She is up and walking, which is stunning to me. She is doing a miraculous job. We are concerned about our daughter. She could be with us as if nothing has happened, or she could take refuge with our Lord and Savior. Please pray for her. Pray that the Lord will manifest Himself and do what is best for our little girl. It is hard to stand to the side and not be able to do anything other than touch and pray for our daughter, but the Great Physician is attending her. And there is no one better.

Through your prayers--physicians, nurses and other specialists are being used according to His will. We are truly appreciative for your prayers and for the great work being done on our daughter's behalf. We are so blessed as a nation to have the health professionals we do. Don't ever take it for granted, I know we never will again.

As we know more, we will let you know. I can't be more specific at this time, and for that I am sorry. But please stand in the gap on our behalf and pray. Stephanie and I know what our selfish hopes for Alison are, but we have to believe and trust that the Lord knows what is best for our daughter. In Him will we place our trust. Thank you for your friendship and prayers.

We remain, Langston and Stephanie
